Friday Favorites
Good afternoon, ladies! It’s time for another weekend wrap up post. This week, our theme was “pray,” and we’ve been talking about that all-important priority in our lives: our faith.
Previously on 4word
We all know how central faith is to our lives, but sometimes making it a priority is a difficult choice. That’s what Diane wrote about on Monday in “Keeping Faith First.” She shared three helpful tips for making our relationship with Jesus a priority, and she reminded us that: “Keeping my priorities straight doesn’t detract from work or family, on the contrary! I am quite simply a better parent, better spouse, and better worker when I put God first.”
On Wednesday, we posted an intriguing interview with Cathleen Falsani about her upcoming book on Justin Bieber. In case you missed the interview, you can read part one and part two here. Cathleen shared what she’d learned from observing Justin about living out your faith at work: “If you really are respectful of people, if you listen carefully, pay attention and do what you’re supposed to do, if you’re loving and generous, all of that speaks to what Jesus said His followers would be known by: our love.”
Around the Blogosphere
The blogosphere holds a wealth of resources for young, professional Christian women. Here are a few, recent articles about faith that we’d like to share with you today.
- “Am I Doing It Right?” from Andrea Lucado’s blog. We want to follow God’s plan for our lives, and that’s a good thing. But sometimes our fear of not making the “right” choice and stepping “out of line” with God’s will can paralyze us.
- “The Know-It-All Generation” from Relevant Magazine. Our generation knows everything. Plus, we’ve got Google and Wikipedia at our fingertips. If we don’t already know it, we can easily find the answer. But what we don’t know is that, if we want to see continued spiritual growth, we’re going to need the help of those older and wiser than we are.
- “Justin Bieber not afraid to use the ‘J-word’” from Cathleen Falsani. For a current example of the authentic faith that Cathleen talked about in her interview, read her latest post about Justin’s speech at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards.

Up Next
Our next theme is “love.” We’ll be talking about relationships, specifically the romantic kind. Diane will share her thoughts on how to decide if your boyfriend could be your husband someday. Whether or not you’re currently dating someone, be sure to stop by and read what she has to say. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and we will see you on Monday!
