Friday Favorites
It’s almost Christmas! And since it’s our last post before Christmas, we’re giving you your present a couple of days early.
It’s a Christmas Video Roundup!
- “Joy to the World” – from Operation Christmas Child’s shoebox processing center. It’s the sounds of the processing center masterfully mixed into the melody of “Joy to the World.”
- An “Amazing” Light Display – This video might start out looking like some stodgy, rather geeky middle-aged man’s version of a cool Christmas light display, but just keep watching. The mix of music is surprisingly awesome.
- The Christmas Story as told by the children of St. Paul’s Church – We’re not sure that there were glow sticks back in 0 AD (not to mention walking stars), but this video is so absolutely adorable that we had to share.
- A Flash Mob of Carolers – No further comments necessary, except to say that this group can really sing!
- Send a Call from Santa – It’s not a video, although you can use this clever Google app to send a video to a friend. From Santa! You can also have Santa call your friend. We’ve tried it, and it’s pretty darn cute.
Around the Blogosphere
On a slightly more serious note, here are some of our favorite Christmas-themed blog posts from this week:
- “DIY Photo Wrapping Paper” – In case you haven’t wrapped all (or any!) of your presents yet, here’s a sure-fire way to make them stand out from the rest of the collection under the Christmas tree.
- For a Stress-Free Holiday – Do the hustle and bustle of the holiday season sometimes make you want to pull your hair out? The Mode Life has a few tips to keep your hair safely in your scalp this year.
- “Present over Perfect” – Shauna Niequist explains why it’s more important to be truly present at holiday gatherings than it is to be perfectly coiffed, with the perfect present, cookie or potluck contribution.
