A message from Diane Paddison, Founder & Executive Director
Dear 4word Community,
As I reflect on the horrible acts of injustice, with the most recent being what George Floyd and his family endured, bringing our nation to acknowledge that injustice still exists, the Holy Spirit brought these two scriptures to mind:
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thyheart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first andgreat commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thyneighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
Matthew 22: 37- 40 (KJV) King James Version
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 (ESV) English Standard Version
I pray that we as a community will listen, have compassion, put love into action, go to God’s Word, and pray.
I specifically plan to “put love into action” as follows:
- As leaders who care, we feel the responsibility to not just talk about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, but to make meaningful changes and contributions through our actions and how we operate.
- We will hold ourselves accountable for doing everything we can to be part of changing the future.
- Through 4word’s Digital Community content, Local Group discussions (including C-Level), and Mentor Program / Corporate Mentor Program focus and resources, we will develop near term action steps and add a fifth dimension to our Operating Plan focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
With a saddened heart and gratefulness for our gift of eternity,
Diane
