Friday Favorites

Another Friday, another round up of our favorite posts from around the blogosphere. Our theme this week was inspired by the new movie I Don’t Know How She Does It, starring Sarah Jessica Parker as Kate Reddy, a woman struggling to balance her high-power career with her family commitments.

Previously on 4word
On Monday, Diane reviewed I Don’t Know How She Does It and how it relates to her own experience juggling career and family. “We all have to figure out where and how to draw these lines in our lives, sometimes, like Kate, through trial and error.  Happily, unlike Kate, we are not alone. God is with us,” she said.

This week, we also finished our interview series with best-selling author Shaunti Feldhahn. Shaunti shared some highlights from her book For Women Only in the Workplace and told us what she wished she had known earlier in her career about men’s expectations for behavior at work.

Work, Love, Pray debuts to rave reviews
Now that Work, Love, Pray is finding its way into the hands of professional, Christian women (and men!) across the country, we wanted to share a couple of the reviews with you:

“For the first time, I felt understood by a Christian author from my conservative corner of the evangelical world. Diane affirmed God’s calling on my life and acknowledged that not all women are led to be housewives. I wish this book and the valuable practical advice it contains had been available to me as I began my career.”

 – Dr. Marilyn Johnson, Michigan State University

“The audience described on the cover is far too narrow for such a great book! I think that any husband of a current or former Christian businesswoman should read this book. I am one of those and it gave me extremely valuable insight into the mind of my wife.”

– David Wills, President, National Christian Foundation

Have you received your copy of the book yet? If so, we’d love to read your review on the Amazon page.
