Well hello there, December. You really snuck up on us! This time of the year is always a mix of emotions. For most of us, excitement is building for Christmas and getting together with family and friends to celebrate Christ’s birth. Others may be feeling some sadness or anxiety that 2017 is almost over. Or maybe you’re a mix of the two: happy for Christmas but stressed because there’s so much to do before 2018 arrives!
Throughout 2017, we have focused on different topics each month with the intention of helping us learn something new and grow in our lives. We hope you’ve traveled with us and received clarity, wisdom, and encouragement like we have! Looking back through the past few months, we at 4word feel nothing but love and gratitude for all we’ve been able to accomplish and provide you. It is our mission to grow a global community of real, passionate, faithful women in the workplace, and we hope our blogs this year have helped you take one giant step toward that goal!
If you reflect on 2017, what comes to mind?
- What victories can you celebrate?
- What battles did you fight?
- What changes have you made, at work, at home, or in your spiritual life?
- What do you still need to tackle in your life?
We feel honored to have been able to utilize our gifts to give back to you. Thinking back through the past year, how have you been able to use your gifts? Perhaps that’s a highlight from the year for you to celebrate: identifying and putting to work a God-given gift or talent in your life. Or maybe this is a low point for you. Do you feel like you’ve spent most of this year searching for your gifts or purpose but still haven’t found what you’re looking for?
“There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.” 1 Corinthians 12:5-6 (NIV)
In this last month of 2017, our prayer is you don’t look back with a heavy heart. As we discovered during our discussion on purpose, most of us are not all called to flashy and high-profile gifts and talents. At the end of every day, if you have lived with a desire to honor God and bring Him glory, you have accomplished your purpose. Join us as we focus on reflection this month. You may discover a blessing or gift that happened months ago that you didn’t see at the time, or you may have the opportunity to not only uncover a gift but then use it to bless someone else.
Let’s embrace the joy of the season and focus our hearts on reflecting back through 2017 to see what God wants us to take into 2018!
