Freedom: Are You Truly Free?
Freedom.
What comes to mind when you read that word? Soldiers? The American flag? Fireworks and patriotic songs? Those mental pictures make sense this time of the year. But don’t confine “freedom” to America’s celebration of independence. You may be an American, but are you really living in freedom?
Ask yourself:
- Are you pushing yourself to the point of exhaustion every day, just to make sure you’re regarded as competent in your workplace?
- Do you want to give everything over to God but find yourself constantly yanking the reins back at the last second?
- Do you have dreams for your life but never feel like it’s the right time to actually focus on making them a reality?
- When you pray, do you find yourself pleading and bargaining with God more than just talking to Him and opening up your heart and mind to His presence?
If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, something in your life is holding you back from experiencing the limitless freedom we are all heirs to. You may already know the culprit of your captivity or you may by living in denial of its existence.
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. – 2 Corinthians 3:17
What would your life look like if you made decisions based on what God wants for you, not based on what everyone around you is choosing or pressuring you to choose? How much happier would you be if you felt like nothing was off limits to you? How would you face each day if you truly understood that you had nothing to prove to anyone?
It’s time to embrace complete freedom. Join us this month as we talk about and learn about this, and share our posts with anyone you know who’s also struggling to live freely.
