The Week's End Wrap-Up

Good afternoon, everyone! If you haven’t found time yet this week to drop by the 4word blog, don’t worry. We’ll have you up to speed in no time. This week’s theme was work, and we’ve been talking about how women can help each other grow and succeed in the workplace.

On Monday, Diane wrote about Building Up Women at Work. She shared the intriguing thought that “if we want to see women grow professionally, we need to use the gifts that God has given us to help and support other women.”

On Wednesday, we spoke with Norma Coldwell, Diane’s mentor, who led an amazing career in the 50s and 60s when most women just didn’t have significant professions outside the home. Over the course of her career, she witnessed many changes concerning women in the workplace. Norma’s story reminded us that: “The only thing you can really depend on is change. Everything changes. All the time. So if you can learn to cope with change, you’ve got it made.”

Have you visited our support page yet? Each week, we update this list with online resources about issues that a young, professional Christian woman might face. For example, check out w2wlink.com, founded by Lisbeth McNabb, a former exec with Match.com and one of 4word’s advisors. w2wlink is a rich connection and professional development site that includes:

We also added two new support topics this week: money and a reading list. Is your favorite blog not on this list? Or perhaps there’s a website that has really helped you that you don’t see listed here. If so, we want to know about it! Let us know in this blog’s comments or email us at info@4wordwomen.org.

Up Next
Our theme next week is pray; we’ll be talking about how to keep your priorities straight and not let work or relationships take precedence over your relationship with Jesus. This week, Diane attended the Willow Creek Global Leadership Summit, so she will have a lot to share with us. Have a blessed weekend, everyone, and we’ll see you again on Monday.
