Be The Gift of Change

gift of change

Merry Christmas to our 4word family!

As we all celebrate and take time to relax over the next few days, we wanted to not only wrap up our year on the 4word blog but also come full circle with this month’s topic of giving. We discussed different “levels” of giving, from being at the beginning, to being willing to contribute to your community, to giving the gift of unity this holiday season.

For our final discussion, we want to challenge all of you to embrace a form of giving as we enter the new year: give the gift of change. The times in which we all live are far from secure. Every day seems to bring a new tragedy, hardship, line in the sand, or just plain sadness. There are bright spots too! But the overwhelming pulse of the world today is one of uncertainty and weariness.

Be honest, have you felt any of these things this year?:

If we’re all being honest, we’ve all felt each of those sentiments at some point this past year: personally, professionally, or spiritually. Satan loves it when we are thrown into a whirlwind of fear and trials and seeming abandonment, because we tend to lose our way and wander. And when we wander, our convictions and allegiances start to weaken, and we begin to accept our dismal state as our new norm.

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 34:19

Dear woman in the workplace, in the church, or at home: you don’t have to accept how things are. Perhaps the gift you are meant to give this year is one to yourself! As children of God, we are called to further His plan and purpose for the human race. As sinful people, we will never stay on track. Things will go awry, chaos and tragedy will descend, and foundations will be questioned and crumble. When this happens in your life, what do you do?

The new year is just days away. Let’s run toward it with the single goal of being God’s “new thing” to the world. Change doesn’t get the chance to work until one brave soul steps out in faith and conviction. Are you tired of feeling oppressed? Do you wish there was more light in your daily life? Are you often praying for more confidence? Be the gift of change your life craves!

4word women, we love each and every one of you and pray that God will give us the exact words, insight, and heart to lead the charge with all of you to making 2018 the best year yet. We know that through Him, anything is possible, even when all seems lost. Bring the invaluable gift of change to your life and watch it flow out to impact the lives of everyone around you!

P.S. As we close out 2017, 4word needs your help to start 2018 financially strong. We are so blessed by the thousands of women in the workplace in the 4word community. Without contributions from readers like you, we cannot grow our global community of women in the workplace and help you pursue your God-given calling with confidence. Would you show your support of 4word by making a gift of $100, $50 or even $25 before January 1st and help us reach our $25,000 match goal? Thank you!
